Jonathan P. Horgan, CFA, CAIA

Mr. Horgan joined IFS' Washington office in 2005. He is primarily involved with the firm's retainer consulting business, but also participates on limited scope operational reviews and on fiduciary decisionmaking assignments. Within the retainer consulting business, Mr. Horgan is responsible for investment plan design, manager due diligence, performance evaluation and analysis, and client relationship management. Mr. Horgan also contributes to the firm's research initiatives, writing monthly and quarterly capital markets commentary, as well as white papers on topical investment issues.

Mr. Horgan has a diverse financial background, working with both traditional investments and with alternative investments. Previously, Mr. Horgan has worked as an arbitrage clerk/trading assistant for Dean Witter Reynolds, as a trader/analyst for hedge fund administrator International Fund Services, and as a trading & technology consultant for Bank Boston Capital Markets.

Mr. Horgan earned a BA in English literature from the College of the Holy Cross, and an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University, where he received Beta Gamma Sigma honors. In addition, Mr. Horgan has completed coursework toward a MS in Investment Management from Boston University. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. In addition, Mr. Horgan is a member of the Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst Association and is a CAIA designee. He has also earned the Series 7 (General Securities Exam) and Series 3 (National Commodity Futures Exam) licenses.
